🧠 What Is Wownero?

Wownero is a fun, privacy-focused meme coin based on Monero, but with some key differences:

  • 100% CPU mining, no GPUs or ASICs!
  • No premine, no ICO, and no dev tax
  • RandomWOW algorithm resists botnets and farm-level mining

That means you can still solo mine Wownero at home and actually find blocks.

🔧 What You Need to Get Started

  1. A desktop PC or laptop with at least a modern CPU (2015+)
  2. An internet connection
  3. About 15 minutes

✅ Step 1: Download the Official Wownero Wallet

You’ll need a wallet to receive your mined WOW coins.

Wownero makes solo mining super easy using your own full node. This means no pools, no fees, and you keep 100% of the block reward.

  1. In your GUI wallet, click Settings → Mining
  2. Enter the number of threads you want to use (e.g., 4 for a 4-core CPU)
  3. Click Start mining

That’s it! You’re solo mining from your own node.

💡 Tip: You can monitor progress under the Status tab. If you get lucky, you’ll hit a block and your balance will jump!

💰 Step 4: Be Patient (and Adjust Expectations)

  • WOW blocks are found every ~1 minute
  • Block reward is ~50 WOW
  • Depending on your CPU, you might find 0–5 blocks/day
  • If you’re unlucky after a few days, you can try mining to a pool for more consistent (but smaller) payouts

If you’re not syncing a full node or want more predictable earnings:

  2. Choose a listed mining pool like:

  1. Download XMRig: https://github.com/xmrig/xmrig/releases
  2. Run with:
   ./xmrig -o pool.wowne.ro:3456 -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -a rx/wow -k

Replace YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS with your wallet from Step 2.
